I had 2 of these mouse fail in the exact same way. The scroll wheel breaks before the first battery runs flat ! Properly unacceptable, trash quality. Still, I don't like to see these things go to waste. I designed an easy to print replacement part.
This is only the hub of the scroll wheel, it fits the original rubber ring, make sure to keep it !
The part is split in 2 connected halves that fold together. You can glue it if you'd like. I didn't, it holds pretty well already with the rubber ring around it.
You must use 0.05mm layer height !
The part likely to break when you try to detach it from the print bed, be cautious and take your time !
Tip for printing in PETG on a flat PEI bed: use some glue stick on the print area, when the print is finished, let the print plat cool-down completely, then use some water to dissolve the glue, the part should detach effortlessly.
To assemble the new scroll wheel:
Lift the mouse cover, remove the 3x T6 screws and open up the mouse
remove your broken wheel, separate the rubber ring, we will reuse it !
remove the 3x PH00 screws from the button PCBA (no need to unplug the ribbon cable)
Fold your new scroll wheel and assemble the rubber ring around it
lift the button PCBA and insert the hexagonal shaft of the new wheel in the encoder (use some flush-cutters to trim the shaft a little bit if it doesn't fit)
place the PCBA with the new wheel back in place, then reassemble everything in the revers order
