This is a 3D scan of a porcelain bust of notable scientist Charles Darwin, from the collection of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences. The bust was made around the turn of the 20th century, by Robinson & Leadbeater, from Staffordshire, England. Darwin's likeness is mounted on a small square base, with the word 'DARWIN' moulded in the base.
Charles Darwin (1809 - 1882) is renowned for his contribution to Alfred Wallace's theory of Natural Selection. A devout husband and father, Darwin balanced his family duties with the study of the specimens he brought from his travels.
