So my niece wanted a pistol with a scope after playing Fortnite, and I thought "why make something you can't shoot anything with?" so I made him this :)
It's a handheld crossbow, powered by rubber bands. With the optional scope on top.
It's got 3 different kind of arrows: The cool broadhead arrow, a regular sharp arrow, and a blunt arrow I was thinking he could have.
There are 2 kinds of scopes: The clip on version that's easy to install and remove, and the mounted version you screw on.
For a complete working toy you need the base, trigger, lever, sprints and hammer - and a minimum of 5 rubber bands. 2 are used to propel the hammer/arrows forwards, one is for resetting the lever, one is for the trigger, and one is for slowing the hammer before it passes the front of the crossbow (which could damage the hammer if you're unlucky).
2 rubber bands for the hammer is a bit weak though. I'd use at least 6 :)
And for the best result add some lubrication in the barrel where the hammer passes through and on the hammer as well.
When printing this, you can print the arrows and sprints with brim and no support.
The hammer needs support from the base plate only.
The trigger and lever needs no support and no brim.
The base needs full support everywhere, and unfortunately a lot of post printing cleanup. For this I also added a cleaner base that is faster and easier to clean after printing.
The scopes are best printed with brim and full support.
