This is a live sized Portal Gun from the video game series Portal and Portal 2 from Valve.
After assembly it will be about 70 cm long which might seem small but trust me that thing is huge. There is more than enough room inside to fit all kinds of electronics. Everything from a few LEDs and simple wiring up to several Rasperry Pi's would fit. The Portal Gun is also designed so that you can take it far enough apart again in case you wanted to change the electronics at a later time.
I created this entirely in Blender 2.8 beta, the file is included in case you want to make changes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- ~ 1300g Black filament
- ~ 750g White filament
- Acryllic glass pipe (Outer diameter: 60mm, inner diameter: 59-54mm, length: 140mm)
- 6x 20mm M4 Screw + Nut
- 2x 10+mm M3 Screw
- ~ 90cm of 5mm thick insulated black cable (doesn't have to be functional)
- Hotglue stick (diameter: 12mm, length 16+cm) (Not used as glue)
- Glue (Hotglue works for most things, normal plastic glue for smaller things)
- Soldering Equipment (Not just for electronics if you want [1])
- Electronics of choice [2]
- Patience
[1] When gluing together the Cover and Front_Cover there will be a very ugly seam. You can practically make it invisible by taking a bit of filament from the spool…
