CC-2 002 cushioncraft, skirtless hovercraft, RC model, 1:25 scale, 3d printed cc2

This is my CC-2 002 cushioncraft model, it is at a 1:25 scale. I designed it all in cad, 3d printed, assembled, finished and sprayed it all.

The original full size craft was designed in 1961, I tried many approaches to make this model and have ended at this configuration!

It is entirely 3d printed, except 2 small pins for the servo horns.


The weight is 730g inc battery, you can just fit a 2200mat 3s turnigy in there, it has 2 motors and two servos.

It is a fairly easy pint but takes some refining to have good operation, if you are interested in finding out more I have made a post on rcgroups forum and have made a video, hope you enjoy it:)

There has been a few instances of people having the fans fail, personally I have had no issues and there are some other working examples, but please be careful and test fully.
Just as a suggestion I would use petg as I did, or even abs if your printer can handle it, please research how to print a structurally strong print and do some test prints! In short for maximum strength it is the high end of the filament print temperature, slow speed 20ms, no cooling fan and slight over extrusion (the higher temp normally dose this for you).
Also the base prints nicely flat on the build plate, the blades print upside down with a support for the top ring, best results with a centre starting point.
It is also imperative that the fan has some post processing and then most importantly it is finely balanced. The…
