ATTENTION: the new version will be available in the near future that will be significantly better in many aspects and will address shortcomings of the current version. If you're considering this project, I would recommend waiting until V2 is released. With the new version, I will be releasing a build tutorial, a complete bill of materials, and a kit of parts. This is an ergonomic monitor arm that is designed to be mounted to your bed. It is a great addition to those who spend a lot of time with their monitor and don't like sitting in one place. With this arm, you can sit, recline, lay down, stand, lay on the floor all while watching movies surfing the web, and playing video games.
The arm is made to fit monitors made out of laptop screens (under 1kg) It will most likely not work with any commercial monitor because of the weight unless you use much stronger springs in your design. I used springs with a 600N/m coefficient.
