I got inspired by Fish Over Chicks' record stand that they made with this type of triangle and I thought it would make a really cool laptop stand. I made a template for the triangle pieces to make it easier to measure/cut the pieces more precisely. The cover photo is what the laptop stand will look like once assembled.

You'll need two triangles for this stand and one rectangular block. When the 3 pieces are put together for the triangles, they are 5 1/4" (or approx. 130mm) tall. After cutting the triangle pieces, just make a long rectangular block the width of your laptop plus up to 1/4" (or 5-10mm) to add wiggle room. Make sure the height of the block is around 1/2" or less but no more than 25mm tall (just under an inch). The mitre on the block is optional. Just reduce the length to 2 1/2 inches (64mm) if you don't feel like cutting the mitre to match the triangles and the edge should still hide fairly well.

Due to how the triangle is set up, you will need ratchet straps to clamp the triangle properly during glue-up so I created some custom ratchet clamp support thingies for this. Use 1" ratchet straps with these. I would print the ratchet supports with 50% infill or more, or print using PETG or some stronger material like ABS to ensure they don't break while clamping. Make sure you print with supports.

Feel free to sell the laptop stands you create using the template. Just don't sell the STL file. Share and remix freely!

Hope these help someone out there looking to…
