Canon 70-200 Tripod Collar Comptatable With RMS
Have us print this for you
PLA from £6 inc. UK delivery on letter-sized prints. We slice, print on a calibrated Creality K2 / Bambu A1, QC and post.
A tripod collar for the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM. I have no clue if this works with other 70-200 lenses, as I do not have any others to test it on.
This uses two heat-set inserts and two M5 screws. The holes are through-holes, so you can use any screw length, but I’d suggest at least 16mm on both sides.
Printing upright with supports worked well for me. I used 45% infill and printed it in white PLA because… white lens, duh.
It prints fairly quickly and seems sturdy. I tested it by walking around with it yesterday for a few hours in the sun with no issues.
The lens holder will be loose. I used E6000 to glue it down, but I imagine almost any kind of glue will work.
This design also accounts for the lens hood being both on and off, so there’s no need to worry about that. However, when attaching the lens cover piece to the rest of the part, I’d recommend having the lens hood inverted to ensure there’s enough clearance once it sets.
This is designed to be used with either with my mounting system (RMS) or with Sirui E-10 and E-20 Ballheads
