I called it circle crank b/c it has a rounded head, almost a perfect circle head. I've made it with glow in the dark filament and was testing out the fuzzy skin and it's pretty good. The filament was bright yellow. I've also spray a little red bloody spot at the chin, it I would recommend NOT doing that. I would just leave it the way it is.
As for printing 1 piece or two pieces...I would go with two pieces ONLY if you have clear epoxy. It's a mess and almost impossible to clean up the epoxy especially with the fuzzy skin. I would print 1 piece if i don't mind the imperfection and using gray colored epoxy.
Volume of the lure is 36g/cm3
length is 3" not including the lip
My starting print setting is 4 walls and 5%infill, which will get the lure to weight 19.35g in filament.
lure weight in filament is 19.35g
hook/split rings/twisted wire: is 5.1g
1/2 inch BB weight 8.3g
this will give me a total of 32.75g
that's 3.25g (9%) below the volume (36g). It should float. If not, then the incorrect calculation is from the DENSITY number from the slicer. Every filament is slightly different.
