This is a remix of Maker222b's "FT817/818/ND protection frame" on Thingiverse. I rounded and chamfered edges and corners, added an extra 50mm to the back to create room for cables, and added holes for threaded inserts.

The intent is to make it easier to use the radio when in a bag, standing on its tail. The extra space in the back lifts the radio forward, so you have room to route some cables.

The holes at the front are for M4 x 8mm threaded inserts to mount the mic clip or other accessories. The holes are all spaced 12.5mm on center, so you can mount the mic clip facing up, down, forward, backward, or at an angle. Both sides are identical mirror images of each other.

UPDATE - I added two more holes for threaded inserts to each rail after I printed mine. Gives you a few more mounting options.

I also included a model of the BNC mount I made. It is just a friction fit, so YMMV. It uses a BNC male to male adapter with an 11mm outer diameter. It is designed for the left side, but you could mirror it in your slicer.

MATERIALS

I used PETG, but you could use PLA, ABS, ASA, or even a firm TPU with high infill or extra walls.

8 - M2.5 x 10mm screws with washers, to attach the rails.

OPTIONAL

M4 x 8mm threaded inserts and M4 screws for mounting mic clip or other accessories

Some bungee cord to attach an ATU
