A compact, low profile filament holder designed for large spools and limited vertical space.
This design was made to allow spool storage underneath or beside a printer, where width is often easier to accommodate than height.
The spool rides mainly on the inner edge of the spool opening, resulting in very low friction without requiring bearings or additional hardware. Pull resistance is surprisingly low, even with large and heavy spools.

The design prioritizes simplicity, low friction and compact dimensions over traditional axle-based spool holders.
Recommended material: PETG, though PLA should work as well.
Important:
1. The inner diameter of your spool should be larger than 50mm. Tested successfully with 1kg, 3kg and 5kg Sunlu spools.
2. The version with the filament guide is large and a printer with a 300x300mm build volume is recommended. The version without the guide is better suited for smaller printers.
