# Snap-Together V-Groove Linear Rail Carriage
A modular, 3D-printable linear carriage that clips directly onto a rail system. It uses four standard 608 skate bearings inside V-groove wheels for motion, and relies on 3D-printed snap joints and four M3 bolts for assembly.
## Hardware
* **Bearings:** 4x 608 Skate Bearings (8x22x7mm)
* **Wheels:** 4x V-groove wheels (sleeves that press-fit onto the 608 bearings)
* **Fasteners:** 4x M3 bolts (used as retention pins through the printed axles)
## Design Features
* **Snap-Fit Frame:** The housing halves snap together directly around the rail, aligning the wheels mechanically without complex mounting brackets.
* **M3 Retention:** The physical load is carried by the 3D-printed axle shafts. The M3 bolts simply pass through the center to prevent the halves from backing out or shifting under load.
* **Support-Free:** Designed to sit flat on the build plate to eliminate the need for support material.
## Print Settings
* **Material:** PETG or ABS/ASA. Avoid standard PLA, as the snap-fit tabs require some material flex to install without snapping.
* **Walls/Perimeters:** 4 to 5 (Crucial for the strength of the snap joints and axle paths).
* **Infill:** 40% – 50% (Gyroid or Cubic).
* **Orientation:** Print flat on the widest face for maximum layer strength across the interlocking tabs.
## Assembly
1. Press the 608 bearings into the V-groove wheel outer sleeves.
2. Snap the main carriage frame together around your rail section.
