About this print
A baby rattle shaped as a miniature sword, intended as a novelty toy for infants. The design produces a rattling sound when shaken and is aimed at parents with an interest in fantasy or gaming themes. An alternative pommel option is included that removes the jewel detail, reducing the risk of small loose parts. PLA is a common material choice for printed toy items and produces a smooth finish at this scale.

Due to some concerns about the jewel dislodging from the pommel and providing a choking hazard, I have added another pommel (pommel2) that does away with the jewel.
I also have an extra rattle that I will be raffling off at the end of April (2016): you can enter by sending an email to [email protected], put "sword rattle" as the subject.
The totally awesome sword rattle has been picked up by a number of blogs and websites. The most notable being:

Print the peas first (i find that using 2 groups of peas makes the best rattle), and when the blade is about half way printed, drop the peas in the open end; this ensures that the peas are forever contained in the rattle.
No support material should be required.
Use superglue, or 5 minute epoxy to secure all the pieces together.
As with all 3D printed toys, parental supervision is required. Discard any broken toys, as the small pieces could be sharp, or pose a choking hazard.
I used dutchmogul's Baby's First Mace for inspiration, scaling, and styling.
Formatting may have been simplified. These are the independent maker's instructions and fitment claims; Hark Tech has not independently verified them.
