About this print

A mathematical art object based on the ambiguous cylinder optical illusion, in which the same physical shape appears to change form depending on the viewing angle and its mirror reflection. The design is generated using OpenSCAD and can be customised before printing. It is used as a desktop curiosity, a conversation piece or a demonstration of geometric perception. PLA is suitable, as the illusion depends on precise surface geometry rather than material strength.
