About this print

An extruder modification bracket for Creality CR-7, CR-10, Ender 2 and Ender 3 printers, designed to improve the handling of flexible filament such as TPU. The standard extruder on these models has a gap that allows soft filament to buckle and jam before reaching the drive gear. This printed part closes that gap and requires a short section of PTFE tube to complete the assembly. PLA is commonly used for extruder-area parts on these machines, though PETG offers slightly better heat resistance if the component sits close to a warm motor.

This is an upgrade for the for Creality CR-7, CR-10, Ender 2, Ender 3, and Afinibot A5, A31. It will allow these printers to print with flexible filament more reliably using a PTFE insert to close the gap in the extruder that normally allows TPU to get jammed. This project requires a 13mm section of PTFE tube for 1.75mm filament cut to a point along with the 3D printed part.

Also, if you have any issues with the coupler staying screwed into the bracket, check out this remix by Chuck Hellebuyck (https://www.thingiverse.com/Elproducts/about) that includes threading for the PTFE coupler: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3072475

Formatting may have been simplified. These are the independent maker's instructions and fitment claims; Hark Tech has not independently verified them.
