About this print
A sewing thimble with a dimpled outer surface and a retaining flange at the base, available in three inner diameter sizes of 14, 16 and 18 mm. The dimples provide grip when pushing a needle through fabric during hand sewing, and the flange helps keep the thimble on the fingertip during use. PLA is appropriate here, as it is rigid enough to deflect a needle and can be printed at fine layer heights to produce a smooth, comfortable contact surface.

The thimbles in the image are 3D printed at 0.1 mm on a MakerBot Replicator FFF 3D printer.
