It’s a community file from its original creator, and now and then a file has a fault that only shows up when we print it, such as walls that are too thin or parts that don’t join properly. If that happens we’ll let you know and try to fix the file, which can add a day or two. If we can’t get a good print from it, we’ll refund you in full.

TPU has a £11.50 print-order minimum. ABS, ASA, PC, Nylon and PETG-CF have a £46 minimum; PA-CF has a £69 minimum. Delivery is shown separately in your cart.

About this print

A small storage box with a lid that hinges and closes using embedded magnets in place of a conventional pin hinge and latch. The parametric design allows the overall box size and magnet dimensions to be set before printing, making it adaptable to a range of storage uses. PLA is a practical material for a container of this kind, as it prints precisely enough to keep the magnet recesses snug and the lid well-aligned.

Customizable box that uses magnets as a hinge and to keep it closed. You can customize the size of the box, and the size of the cylindrical magnets to use.

The attached STL files are designed to use 2mm (diameter) x 3mm (height) magnets.
