Our workshop sits in Basingstoke, a short hop from Portsmouth, which makes it one of the easier places in Hampshire to get quality FDM 3D printing without going through an online marketplace or a print-on-demand outfit that sub-contracts the work overseas.
As well as Portsmouth itself I regularly print for Gosport, Fareham, Havant, Waterlooville and Cosham and the surrounding Hampshire area. Everything ships by Royal Mail Tracked or Parcelforce, so it makes no difference whether you’re in the centre or out in the villages.
Being on the coast, a lot of Portsmouth work is parts that have to survive weather and UV, outdoor mounts, marine fittings, replacement trim. Those go in ASA, our UV- and weatherproof engineering material, rather than standard PLA. Portsmouth has plenty of printing options on paper, but most are aggregators that route jobs through shared farms, you never know which machine, operator or country your part came from. Hark Tech is a one-person workshop: every job is printed on a machine I maintain myself, and you talk to the person who pressed start.
