No 3D file? Our partner CEEQ Design makes it real.
Got an idea, a sketch or a broken part but nothing to print from? You need it designed first, and that is CEEQ Design, a team of Chartered Engineers who model it, handle the job start to finish, then have it printed. Hark Tech is the printing side of that partnership.
The design is in expert hands
We are a printing workshop, not a design studio, so all the CAD is done by CEEQ Design, a Basingstoke studio led by Chartered Engineers who design for a living. You get one job, start to finish, with the modelling done right.
Basingstoke engineering design studio, led by Chartered Engineers. Mechanical, electronics, software and full product design, idea to manufacture.
Proven on serious engineering: subsea housings rated to 4000 m, instruments with 10-year battery life and cloud-connected monitoring systems.
Visit CEEQ Design →Design is quoted per part by CEEQ Design based on complexity. Ask us and we will get you a figure before any work starts.
Describe it, CEEQ designs it, we print it
No CAD file, no problem. Bring an idea, a sketch, a photo or a worn-out part. CEEQ turns it into a print-ready model, then we print it in-house and post it to you.
Custom parts from scratch
Describe it, sketch it or show us a reference. Our design partner models it properly in CAD, sized to fit and built to print, then we print it.
Mechanical & functional parts
Brackets, mounts, gears, housings and moving assemblies designed to fit and to take load. Proper engineering (CAD, FEM, CFD, seals), not a quick sketch.
Replacement & obsolete parts
A broken bracket, a discontinued clip, a worn gear or knob, reverse-engineered from the old part or a photo and reprinted in a material that lasts.
Enclosures & housings
Custom cases, bezels, mounts and brackets for electronics and hardware, designed around your components and in the right material for where they live.
Improve an existing part
Fix a weak point, change a fit, add a feature or adapt a part to a new use, then print the upgraded version. CEEQ can take on electronics and full product design too.
Prototypes & one-offs
Turn a concept into something you can hold and test in days, not weeks. Bespoke one-off components, display pieces and proof-of-concept parts.
The right material, honestly advised
We print FDM, the right tool for strong, functional parts. If your part really needs a fine cosmetic finish, a transparent or a flexible material, we will tell you straight rather than sell you the wrong process.
| Material | Good for | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | Concept models, prototypes, display parts, fast iteration | In stock |
| PETG | Tougher functional parts, brackets, mild chemical resistance | In stock |
| ABS | Heat resistance, durable enclosures, classic engineering plastic | Ordered in |
| ASA | Outdoor and UV-stable parts, marine and weather exposure | Ordered in |
| PC | High strength and high temperature applications | Ordered in |
From idea to finished part
Talk to CEEQ
Take your idea, sketch, photo, rough dimensions or worn-out sample to CEEQ. No CAD file needed, and no CAD skills either.
CEEQ designs it
Their Chartered Engineers model it properly in CAD, sized to fit and built to print. You approve the design with them before anything goes to a printer.
We print it
CEEQ sends the approved model to us. We print it in the right material, PLA, PETG, ASA or PC, on machines we run and maintain ourselves.
Posted to you
Packed and posted UK-wide. The CAD model is yours, so reordering or tweaking the part later is easy.
Stuck at the modelling stage? You are not alone
Most people have the idea and the need, just not the 3D file. These are the jobs CEEQ designs most, then sends to us to print.
Design and print, answered
I do not have a 3D model. Can you still get my part made?
Yes. You need it designed first, and that is CEEQ Design. Take a sketch, a photo, rough dimensions or even a broken sample to them, their engineers turn it into a print-ready CAD model, then we print it in-house and post it to you. You do not need any CAD skills.
How much does design and printing cost?
Two separate steps. CEEQ Design quote the design per part based on how complex it is, and a straightforward part usually costs a lot less than people expect. Printing is priced instantly from the finished file on our quote tool. CEEQ give you the design figure before any work starts.
Can a broken or discontinued part be copied or reverse-engineered?
Often, yes. From the broken part or a clear photo with key dimensions, CEEQ can model a discontinued bracket, clip, gear, knob or housing, and we reprint it in a suitable material.
Who does the design work?
CEEQ Design, a Basingstoke studio of Chartered Engineers (3D and mechanical design, electronics and full product development). They design the part and run the job with you; Hark Tech prints it. For a design enquiry you go straight to CEEQ.
Do I own the 3D model?
Yes. The CAD model produced for you is yours to keep and reuse, including for future reprints.
How long does design and printing take?
Design time depends on how complex the part is, CEEQ will tell you when they quote. Standard printing dispatches within 2 to 4 working days once the model is approved. Tell CEEQ your deadline and you will get a straight answer on what is realistic.
Which materials can you print?
PLA and PETG are in stock. ABS, ASA and PC engineering materials are ordered in for heat resistance, strength and outdoor durability. We recommend the right material for the job when we quote.
Get your part designed by CEEQ
Take your idea, sketch, photo or broken part to CEEQ Design. Their Chartered Engineers will scope it, quote the design and model it, then have it printed by us and posted to you. Already have a print-ready file? Skip the design step and get an instant print quote.
Idea to finished part, in expert hands
Stop trying to learn CAD or chase a freelancer. CEEQ's Chartered Engineers design it and run the job, then we print and post it from Basingstoke. Real engineers, real machines, one finished part.
A UK 3D printing service you can order from anywhere
Most 3D printing companies require a minimum order or want you to collect in person. We work entirely by post, so where you are in the UK makes no difference. Send a file, a sketch, or a photo of the broken part, we quote from there. No minimum order; a single part is just as welcome as a batch.
Materials we print in
- PLA, the most affordable option; good for prototyping, display models, miniatures, and replacement parts where cost matters most
- PETG, tougher than PLA and handles light moisture and moderate heat; the better choice for functional parts
- ASA, UV-stable and weather-resistant; the right material for anything living outdoors
- Polycarbonate (PC), the strongest material in our range; use it for structural parts under real load
What does 3D printing cost?
Print cost depends on how much material the part uses and how long the job runs. We quote per job rather than charging a flat rate, and there is no minimum spend. For specific pricing, the printing page has the details.
How long does a print take?
Typically a few working days from confirmed order to dispatch, depending on part size and complexity. If the design step is involved too, CEEQ Design will give you a separate timeline for the modelling work.
When to mail it in
If you have a file ready, head to our printing page to get a quote. If you are starting from a sketch, a broken original, or just an idea, the design partnership covers that end to end. Either way, get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
Frequently asked questions
How much does 3D printing cost in the UK?
It depends on the material and print time. A small PLA part costs less than a large polycarbonate one. We quote per job with no minimum spend, so you can see the price before committing. The printing page has specific pricing information.
Do I need a CAD file to order a print?
No. A sketch, a photo of the broken part, or a rough description is enough to get started. Our design partner CEEQ Design will model it from what you have. You only need a ready-made file if you are skipping the design step and going straight to print.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No minimum. One part is fine, whether it is a single miniature figure, a replacement clip, or a prototype bracket. We quote and print single parts the same way we handle larger batches.
How does the mail-in process work?
We are based in Basingstoke and post finished parts anywhere in the UK, so your location makes no difference. Once your part is printed and checked, we package it and post it back to you. Get in touch to start.
How long does 3D printing take from order to delivery?
Typically a few working days from confirmed order to dispatch, depending on part complexity. If you need the design step too, CEEQ Design handle that and will give you a separate estimate. Postal delivery adds to that on top.
