Most services make you upload a file to learn anything. Here is our whole price list instead: one small PLA or PETG part from £4.00; Draft PLA fit checks from £5.18; Standard at 4.6p per gram of PLA plus £1.15 per machine hour; and Fine detail at 0.16 mm, with its additional sliced machine time included automatically. There is a £6.90 order minimum (£4.00 for small PLA and PETG parts up to 8 g each), no per-item handling fee, and free UK delivery over £40. The estimator applies the live rate card to your actual file.
Material, weighed from your actual file. PLA is 4.6p; tougher and engineering materials run 5.06p to 20.7p per gram (table below).
Print time, estimated from your actual file. A 2-hour clip uses £2.30 of machine time; a 20-hour helmet pays for the machine it occupies.
Floors: £4.60 per part, £6.90 per order. That covers handling, checking and packing on the smallest jobs. Small PLA or PETG parts up to 8 g each have lower floors: £2.30 per part and a £4.00 order minimum. Compare £15 to £40 minimums at the industrial bureaus.
That is the Standard formula. No file-setup fee, no per-item handling fee, no quote fee. Two adjustments are built into the labour: long prints carry a reprint-risk allowance on machine time (+15% for 2 to 4 hours per copy, +30% for 4 hours or more), and near-solid prints at 80% infill or more carry a 25% dense-print surcharge. Both are included in the estimator price before you pay. After every discount, each print line still bills at least £1 per machine hour plus its material, so batch, Economy and student savings never stack below that. Speed tier multiplies the labour: Express (jumps the queue, guaranteed 2-day dispatch even when busy) ×1.7, Standard (most dispatched within 2 working days, 4 at the latest) ×1, Economy (10 to 14 days) ×0.8. Students take 20% off labour with an academic email.
Draft PLA fit checks start at £5.18. Draft uses 0.28 mm layers, fixed 10% infill and a 15% prototype discount, with a £4.03 per-part floor. It is for economical size, shape and fit checks rather than finished presentation parts.
Fine detail uses 0.16 mm layers. It keeps the Standard material and machine-hour rules: the estimator slices the actual STL, STEP or unsliced 3MF at 0.16 mm and includes the additional estimated machine time. When a minimum price sets the line instead (the per-copy, order or lone-part minimum), Fine detail adds a flat £2.00 so the slower print is still paid for. An already-sliced 3MF remains Standard because its embedded layer height cannot be changed.
Eligible print subtotals over £10 save 5% when any suitable stocked colour is acceptable. Minimum-price floors can reduce or remove that saving. Hark Tech is not VAT registered, so VAT is not added to the displayed price.

Per-gram rates. Stocked colours vary by material and are shown live in the estimator. TPU has a £11.50 print-order minimum. ABS, ASA, polycarbonate, nylon and PETG-CF have a £46 print-order minimum; PA-CF has a £69 minimum. These floors apply whichever colour you choose and before any eligible no-colour-preference saving. Yes. We are trialling a lower minimum for tiny parts, started on 12 October 2026. If every part in your basket is PLA or PETG, up to 8 g and 45 minutes of print time per copy, the minimum order is £4.00 and the per-part floor is £2.30, instead of £6.90 and £4.60. A part of about 1 g is £4.00, roughly £6.95 delivered by Royal Mail Large Letter, and two tiny parts together can come to as little as £4.60. One larger part in the basket, or a different material, brings the normal £6.90 minimum back. The estimator shows the price that is charged before you pay.
Yes. We are trialling a lone-part price, started on 16 October 2026. When your basket holds exactly one copy of one PLA or PETG part, up to 40 g and 3.5 hours of printing, at Standard or Bulk lead time, it costs the higher of its normal price, £4.00, or 16p per gram (on our usual 57.5p steps), and never more than £6.90. A 20 g part is £4.00, a 30 g part £5.18, a 35 g part £5.75 and a 40 g part £6.90. A second copy or a second part brings the normal £6.90 minimum back. The estimator shows the price that is charged before you pay.

A 20-hour print occupies a machine for 20 hours however little it weighs. Weight-only pricing overcharges small dense parts and undercharges big hollow ones; charging both keeps every quote honest, and the breakdown shows each number. TPU machine time is billed at 1.5 times the sliced time: flexible filament prints slowly, and batches of small TPU parts have run about that much longer than the slice on our machines.
Yes, and you see it before you order: the quote page shows the price per copy at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 and you pick a row. The estimator automatically takes 10% off labour from 5 identical parts, 20% from 10, 30% from 25, 40% from 50 and 50% at 100, which is the online limit. The per-copy minimum drops by the same percentage, so small parts get the full saving. The quote uses our own slicer profiles and printers, so long and large runs are priced instantly. Only a run that would take more than 14 working days to print and dispatch on the fleet (four printers, two of them enclosed for ABS, ASA, nylon, polycarbonate and PA-CF) shows as a written quote in the ladder, and the file goes to Grant for a firm price and a realistic dispatch date. Runs of 101 or more need a written business quote. Students take a further 20% off labour with an academic email, and the Economy speed tier takes another 20% off when you can wait 10 to 14 days.
For occasional parts, yes: a decent printer is £200 to £500 before filament, failed prints and your evenings. For one part a month, ordering wins. If you print weekly, buy a printer, and our help library will get you running it well.
