The JBL speakers listed here leave the factory with an IPX7 or IP67 water resistance rating. Once a speaker has been opened, nobody can guarantee that rating any more. We refit the seals and gaskets carefully, but after a port repair we advise keeping the speaker out of water.
A speaker that has been in water can also have corrosion beyond the port, and on some boards the pads under the port lift when the old port comes off. If we find damage like that, we photograph it and quote before doing anything more.
