The controller is returned tested. The £29 is the final price.
Find the fault before buying the fix.
Drift does not always mean a worn stick, and an unresponsive button may only need its contact area cleaned. We test, open, clean and calibrate your controller before recommending parts.
Stick-drift repairs: save 5% on 5 or more controllers
For a known stick-drift fault, choose a fixed-price repair: Xbox (£35 one stick / £50 both), PS4 DualShock 4 (£35 / £50) or PS5 DualSense (£39 / £55). Prices are per controller.
Yes. Book 5 to 20 Xbox, PS4 DualShock 4 or PS5 DualSense controllers for the same fixed-price stick-drift repair and save 5%. Prices are per controller; choose one stick or both sticks for each controller. Pay a £15 deposit per controller, credited against the discounted total. Tracked UK return postage is included; you pay postage to us. The offer does not apply to controller assessments, Joy-Con repairs or mixed repair types. Two Xbox controllers needing both sticks cost £100 normally; five cost £237.50 after the discount.
The £29 assessment on this page is for unclear faults and is excluded from the bulk offer. Use the fixed-price repair links above to choose your quantity.

Built for faults that are not obvious
Use this service when you know something is wrong, but not which part is responsible. Common examples include intermittent drift, buttons that miss presses, sticky or inconsistent triggers, soft bumpers, double inputs and mixed faults.
We accept common full-size first-party Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers, including premium controllers such as Xbox Elite Series 2. For Joy-Con drift, use the dedicated Joy-Con repair service. Ask first about third-party or unusual controllers.
Important: cleaning and calibration can solve contamination or setup-related faults, but they cannot restore a worn or broken component. We will not promise a stick replacement before testing shows it is needed.
What your £29 covers
- Functional input test and fault confirmation
- Careful disassembly and internal inspection
- Cleaning of accessible button membranes, contact pads, triggers, bumpers and stick areas where relevant
- Calibration, reassembly and final input test
- Clear findings and a parts quote if further repair is needed
- Tracked UK return postage
You arrange and pay for the tracked journey to us. The booking email gives you the workshop address and packing checklist.
What happens after the assessment?
We send an exact quote first. Approve it and the full £29 is credited toward the repair.
No parts are fitted. The £29 covers the completed assessment and tracked return.
If replacement would be better value than repair, we will say so plainly rather than push an uneconomic job.
How to book and post it
- Book and pay £29. Choose the controller and the closest fault category.
- Pack the controller only. Remove loose batteries, caps and paddles. Keep the console, cables and case at home.
- Send it tracked. You pay the journey to our Basingstoke workshop; your booking email contains the address.
- We assess and update you. Nothing involving extra parts or cost starts without your approval.
Controller assessment questions
Do you offer a bulk discount on controller repairs?
What does the £29 include?
Testing, internal inspection, relevant cleaning, calibration, reassembly, final testing and tracked UK return. You pay the tracked postage to us.
Will cleaning always fix stick drift or a dead button?
No. Contamination, contact condition and calibration can create those symptoms, but worn or damaged parts can look similar. The assessment tells us which route is sensible.
What if parts are needed?
We send an exact quote before fitting anything. If you approve it, the £29 assessment payment is credited in full. If you decline, it covers the bench work and tracked return.
Can I bring the controller to you?
No. Hark Tech is a mail-in workshop and does not offer walk-ins. The service is available across the UK by post.
Do I need to send the console or accessories?
No. Send the controller only. Remove disposable batteries and keep loose thumbstick caps, paddles, cases and cables at home unless we specifically ask for them.
