Drift repair prices by controller
Prices are per controller and include a compatible Hall Effect stick, calibration, bench testing and tracked UK return. You pay £15 to book, credited to the price, and post the controller to us tracked.

Original Nintendo Joy-Con may be repaired free through Nintendo's UK support, so check that first. Our Joy-Con service is for controllers that are not eligible, or if you want Hall Effect sticks. Typical turnaround is 5 to 7 working days from arrival at the workshop.

Know the fault? A loose or snapped trigger spring, or a sticky button or one that misses presses, is the £29 fixed repair: £15 to book, credited to the price, with the balance paid when the work is complete. Not sure what is wrong? Book the £29 assessment, paid upfront. Adaptive-trigger motor faults are quoted. Already booking a DualSense repair? Why a Hall Effect stick stops the usual drift
Most stick drift comes from wear. A standard analogue stick reads its position from a wiper rubbing along a carbon track, and as the track wears, the reading at rest wanders off centre. Your character walks on its own, or the camera creeps.
A Hall Effect stick measures position with a magnet and a sensor, so there is no carbon track to wear. We desolder the old module, fit a compatible Hall Effect stick, calibrate the controller and check the neutral reading on the bench before it goes back.
To be straight with you: Hall Effect removes the common wear cause, not every cause. Springs, contamination, calibration and other faults can still affect centring, which is why every job is tested before and after. If we open a controller and find a different fault, we photograph it and ask before doing anything extra.
Book, post, fixed, back to you
- Book online. Choose your controller and one or both sticks, and pay £15 to book. It comes off the price.
- Post the controller only. A padded envelope or small box is fine. No console, cables or case. Your booking email has the workshop address and a packing checklist.
- We check and fit. We confirm the drift, fit the Hall Effect stick, calibrate and bench-test it.
- Pay the balance and it comes back. Returned by tracked post, with a 12-month warranty on the work.

Book 5 to 20 Xbox, PS4 DualShock 4 or PS5 DualSense controllers for the same drift repair and save 5%. Choose the quantity when you book. The offer does not cover assessments, Joy-Con repairs or mixed repair types.
The £29 controller assessment
For when you are not sure what is wrong: double inputs, mixed faults, or premium controllers such as the Xbox Elite Series 2. We test, open, clean and calibrate the controller before recommending any parts. The £29 is paid upfront when you book.
Already know it is one trigger or button? The £29 fixed trigger or button repair is the simpler route: £15 to book, credited to the price.

Controller repair questions
What causes controller stick drift?
Usually wear in the stick's carbon track, which makes the resting position read off centre. Dirt and calibration can cause similar symptoms, which the pre-work check rules in or out.
How much is a drift repair?
Xbox and PS4 DualShock 4: £35 for one stick or £50 for both. PS5 DualSense: £39 or £55. DualSense Edge: £55. Switch Joy-Con: £35 each or £55 the pair. Switch 2 Joy-Con: £45 each or £65 the pair. Tracked UK return is included.
Is it cheaper than a new controller?
Usually, yes, and the Hall Effect stick removes the carbon-track wear that caused the drift in the first place.
Should I use Nintendo's free Joy-Con repair instead?
If your Joy-Con are original and eligible, check Nintendo's UK support first, because it may be free. Our service suits Joy-Con that are not eligible, or owners who want Hall Effect sticks.
Is the £29 trigger or button repair the same as the £29 assessment?
No. If you know the fault, such as a loose or snapped trigger spring or a sticky button or one that misses presses, book the £29 fixed trigger or button repair: you pay £15 to book, credited to the price, and the balance when the work is complete. Can I drop the controller off?
No. Hark Tech is a mail-in workshop with no walk-ins. The service is available across the UK by post.
What if the controller has another fault too?
We photograph it and ask before doing anything outside the booked repair. For unclear or mixed faults, the £29 assessment is the better starting point.
