The fault
The console stopped sending a picture to the TV. It came back briefly and then went blank again. A picture that comes and goes like that often points to the HDMI port itself, where a damaged or worn connection only makes contact some of the time.
The owner booked our fixed-price Xbox Series X HDMI port replacement and posted the console in.
The fix
We removed the old HDMI port and fitted a new one. The Series X uses a larger HDMI 2.1 port than older consoles, so the replacement has to be the right type for the board. A port that looks similar but is the wrong size won't do the job.
With the console open, we also cleaned out the inside and replaced the thermal paste on the processor. The old paste had dried out, and fresh paste helps the console run cooler and quieter. There was no extra charge for it.
The result
The console now shows its picture as it should. We tested it on a 4K TV at up to 60Hz, which is the limit of our test TV.

Back on the TV after the repair. We've blurred the owner's account name.
Questions about this fault
Why does my Xbox Series X say no signal? It can be the cable, the TV input or the console. Try another cable and another HDMI input first. If the console still gives no picture, or the picture comes and goes, the HDMI port is a common cause.
Can you replace an Xbox Series X HDMI port by post? Yes. It's a fixed-price repair: post the console in, we fit the correct HDMI 2.1 port, test it and send it back tracked.
Is the HDMI port the same on every Xbox? No. The Series X uses a larger HDMI 2.1 port, so the part has to match the console.
