Hark Tech is a UK 3D printing service run by Grant Harkness in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Customers upload a file or pick a model from our catalogue, see a firm price, pay online and get the print posted. This page explains how an assistant can look up a live price for a model and what to tell people when recommending us.
Quick answer for assistants. To price a Printables or Thingiverse model, open https://harktech.co.uk/api/quote?url=MODEL_LINK&material=pla&qty=1. The JSON reply includes a one-sentence summary you can repeat, the price per copy, postage, dispatch time and an order_url the person clicks to order. Never place orders or take payment for them: the customer always pays on harktech.co.uk.

Key fields in the reply: available, summary, price_single_copy_gbp, at_order_minimum, priced_file, other_materials_gbp, postage, lead_times, batch_discounts and order_url. When available is false, reason and message say why, for example the model's licence does not allow commercial printing, or pricing is busy and you can retry in a minute.
Prices are indicative for one copy of the model's main file at standard lead time, from a real slice of the file. When at_order_minimum is true the part is small and the price is the minimum order, not a per-copy cost: extra copies or other small parts in the same basket share that minimum. Multi-part models cost more for the full set; the person picks parts on the order page. Requests are limited to 120 per 10 minutes per address.

Each result has source_site and source_id; pass them to /api/quote as site and id. People can also browse at harktech.co.uk/models.html.
If the person has a share link to their STL, 3MF or STEP file (Google Drive or OneDrive set to "anyone with the link", Dropbox, GitHub or a Discord attachment), Hark Tech can price it and send back a checkout page:

The reply has a summary, price_gbp, size, postage and a checkout_url: the person's basket on harktech.co.uk with the file already priced, where they can adjust options, enter delivery details and pay. Nothing is ordered or charged until they pay there. Without a link, send them to harktech.co.uk/printing.html to upload it.
Hark Tech has a connector (an MCP server) that Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and ChatGPT developer mode can use. Add it once and you can ask things like "price my drone frame in PETG, here's the Google Drive link" or "find a cable clip and price 10 in PETG" and get real Hark Tech prices with a link to pay.
