Why single-hose air con struggles

It depressurises the room

A single hose blows your cooled indoor air outside. That air has to be replaced, so warm outdoor air is pulled in through gaps around doors and windows. You are cooling air just to throw it away.

It works harder for less

Because warm air keeps leaking back in, the unit runs longer to hold the same temperature. On the hottest days, when you need it most, a single-hose unit can struggle to keep up.

Dual-hose fixes both

A second hose feeds the condenser with outdoor air instead of room air, so the room stays sealed and cools faster. It is the same principle used by higher-end portable units that ship dual-hose from the factory.

Order the split parts, not the one-piece file

These designs are large, so the designers publish them both as one big piece and as smaller split parts. The one-piece Full or Whole files are bigger than any normal print bed, including ours, and the quote tool will tell you a part is too large if you pick them.

On the order page, use the file picker and add the split parts instead:

  • AEG Comfort 6000 (AXP26U339CW): add Part A and Part B to your quote. Skip the Full file.
  • Electrolux / AEG ChillFlex: add Top, Center and Bottom. Skip the Whole and Simple files.

The printed parts join together on the unit. If you would rather we just sort it, message us on WhatsApp and we will send you a quote with the right files picked.

Materials and price

As a guide, the AEG Comfort 6000 pair printed in PLA came to £24 on a recent order. We recommend PETG for parts that sit on the warm side of the unit or near a sunny window: it costs a little more and lasts much better in heat. ASA is the choice for strong direct sun. The order page shows the exact live price for your material and colour before you pay. Postage is £3.95 Royal Mail Tracked 48, free on orders over £40.

How it works

  1. Find your model above and open its order page. We already hold the print-ready files, so there is nothing to upload.
  2. Add the split parts and pick a material. PETG is our recommendation. The live price updates as you choose.
  3. Check out and we print it. Printed to order in our Basingstoke workshop and posted tracked, usually within a few working days.

Frequently asked questions

What does the dual-hose conversion actually do?

A single-hose portable air conditioner pulls air from inside the room to cool its condenser, then blows that air outside. That creates negative pressure indoors, so warm unconditioned air gets sucked back in through gaps around doors and windows. A dual-hose setup gives the condenser its own outdoor air supply, so it does not depressurise the room. The result is faster, more efficient cooling, especially on hot days.

Which adapter fits my unit?

Check the model number on the sticker on the back or side of the unit. AXP26U339CW takes the two-part Comfort 6000 adapter. AXP26U338CW takes the 150 mm ChillFlex Pro remix. Other ChillFlex models are usually covered by the original three-part ChillFlex mod. If you are not sure, send us the model number and we will check before you pay anything.

Why does the quote tool say the part is too large?

You have picked the one-piece Full or Whole file, which is bigger than any normal print bed. Use the file picker on the order page and add the split parts instead: Part A plus Part B for the Comfort 6000, or Top, Center and Bottom for the ChillFlex. Each split part fits our printers and the quote will price normally.

Do I need anything else?

You supply one standard portable-AC exhaust hose for the new intake, which is a cheap and widely available part. Everything printed is included in the parts listed. If you are unsure which hose fits, message us before ordering and we will point you to the right one.
