3D printers drift. Belts loosen, nozzles wear, beds shift, hot-ends clog with carbonised filament, and Klipper configs accumulate one-off tweaks until nobody’s sure what’s actually doing what. The result: bad first layers, ringing on every wall, mystery clogs mid-print, and lost confidence in the machine.
The Health Check & Tune is a top-to-bottom mechanical and config refresh. We strip the kinematics, service everything that touches the print, audit your firmware/Klipper config, and send the printer back with a clean test print to prove it. Most printers come back behaving better than they did out of the box.
We run Klipper-modded K2 and Voron printers in our own workshop. We know what a healthy config looks like and how to spot drift.
Most service shops only tighten belts. We check belts, rails, hot-end, bed AND your printer.cfg — because half of bad first layers are software, not hardware.
Your £25 deposit covers a tracked label we email to you. Return shipping is on us.
Same £40 regardless of make or model. Premium thermal paste, written report and 30-day workmanship guarantee included.
Refund policy: If you don’t ship within 14 days of receiving your label, the deposit is forfeit (we’ve already paid for it). If we receive your laptop and decide we can’t help — for example because the issue is outside the scope of a clean and tune-up — we refund the £15 in full and return the laptop at our cost.
If we find another fault: We email you with photos and an honest opinion before doing anything chargeable. You decide whether to add it on (at our normal repair rates) or just have the laptop returned after the clean.
Full mechanical service (frame, rails, belts), hot-end deep clean with new nozzle, bed levelling, and Klipper config audit with backup. Free UK return shipping is included. Calibration test print included.
3D printers are big — the inbound tracked label costs £15–£20 typically (Parcelforce 24 or Royal Mail Tracked, depending on weight). The £25 deposit covers it. The remaining balance is then £15.
If you don’t ship within 14 days of getting your label, the deposit is forfeit. If we receive it and decide we can’t help — for example, the issue is a board failure outside scope of a tune — we refund the £25 in full and return at our cost.
Yes. We backup printer.cfg (and any include files) before touching anything. You get the original back, plus a tuned version, plus a written summary of every change. Pick whichever you prefer.
Most well-known FDM machines: Creality (Ender, K1, K2), Bambu (A1, P1, X1), Prusa (i3, MK4, MINI), Voron (kit-built), and Klipper-modded versions of the above. Resin printers are not in scope. If you’re unsure, WhatsApp first.
Almost always yes. Bad first layers are usually a combination of bed mesh drift, Z offset, pressure advance and inconsistent extrusion — all of which we recalibrate. We send a test print back so you can see it before running real jobs.
3–5 working days from arrival. Tuning + test prints take longer than a typical clean. Transit both ways adds 3–5 days. Plan on roughly 10 days from booking to printer-back-on-bench.
£40 all-in. £25 to start. Free UK shipping both ways.
