The UK's K2 specialist repair service. We’ve reverse-engineered the K2 firmware in-house and ship two open-source K2 projects (KAMP-K2, K2-Screws-Tilt) to the community. Mail-in from anywhere in the UK, or remote-fix (SSH) for software issues. Diagnosis £60, waived if you proceed.
The Creality K2 is a great printer with awkward firmware. When it goes wrong — thermal runaway, AMS faults, bricked updates, layer shifts, camera failures, lost root — most repair shops are reading the same Reddit threads as you. We’ve actually pulled the K2 firmware apart and run multiple K2 Pros in production. That’s not marketing — the projects are on GitHub. Out-of-warranty K2, dead K2, weird K2, K2 you want pushed beyond Creality’s defaults: that’s us.

The K2 ships a custom Creality firmware on top of Klipper. Most shops treat it as a black box. We’ve mapped the partitions, the boot process, the vendor patches and the camera/AMS/chamber control paths. A “bricked” K2 is usually just a misflashed partition we can re-image — not a write-off.
KAMP-K2 brings adaptive bed mesh + line purge to the K2 platform. K2-Screws-Tilt ports gantry alignment from mainline Klipper. Both are public, both work, both confirmed by the wider K2 community. We use what we ship.
We run multiple Creality K2 Pros daily as the workhorses for the 3D printing service. We’ve seen the failure modes first-hand — not just from the support forum — and have spare parts in stock for the most common ones.
Creality’s warranty service is fine inside 12 months. Outside it, you’re largely on your own. We pick up where Creality leaves off — older K2s, machines they’ve refused, machines that need work beyond “factory reset and pray.”
Want mainline Klipper without losing the K2’s camera, AMS/CFS multi-colour, chamber control or runout sensor? That’s our daily-driver setup. See the dedicated Klipper installation service for full details.
Every repair starts with a written diagnosis and a fixed-price quote. If the machine isn’t worth fixing, we’ll say so. If a Creality warranty claim is the right call, we’ll point you there first. No upsell.
Standard postage and tracked return shipping included on UK mail-in jobs. Insured shipping available on request.
We’ve reverse-engineered the K2’s stock firmware to understand what each vendor blob actually does. Two of our open-source K2 projects ship publicly (KAMP-K2 adaptive mesh + line purge, K2-Screws-Tilt gantry alignment), and we run multiple production K2 Pros in our workshop daily. That means we know the printer’s quirks at the firmware level, not just the bolt level.
Yes — K2, K2 Plus and K2 Pro are all supported. They share the same core electronics and firmware family, with mainly mechanical differences (build volume, dual-extruder on Plus). Our diagnostic and repair processes apply across all three.
Common: thermal runaway and heater faults, layer-shift / belt issues, AMS/CFS multi-colour problems, camera failures, runout sensor faults, screen / control panel issues, hotend clogs and PTFE wear, bed adhesion problems, motor and stepper driver faults. Firmware-side: stuck on boot, failed updates, lost root, network issues. We send a written diagnosis with quote before any work.
Usually yes. We have full SSH access to our own K2s and have mapped the boot process, so a “bricked” machine is generally just a misflashed partition we can re-image. Out-of-warranty bricks are our specialism — Creality support’s standard answer is “send it back”, ours is “pop the lid”.
Yes — full Klipper migration on a K2 is £120 remote or £200 mail-in. You keep camera, AMS/CFS, chamber control, lights, runout sensor and even Creality cloud connectivity if you want it. What you gain: real input shaping, pressure advance per material, faster prints, configuration you can read. See our dedicated Klipper installation service page for details.
Software-only issues (firmware, network, config, slicer) we handle remotely over SSH or a screen-share — typically £40-80, 1-3 day turnaround. Anything mechanical, electrical or “I don’t know what’s wrong” is mail-in. We send you packaging guidance, you ship to Basingstoke, we diagnose within 48h of arrival, then fix and ship back. Diagnosis is £60 and waived if you proceed with the repair.
Honest answer: any third-party firmware or hardware work technically voids the original Creality warranty. In practice if your machine is under 12 months old and the fault is something Creality covers, send it to them first — it’s free. We’re for out-of-warranty machines, machines Creality has refused, or owners who want firmware/tuning beyond what Creality offers.
30 days on the specific repair carried out — if the same fault recurs within 30 days for reasons under our control, we fix it free. New parts (heaters, hotends, motors) carry their manufacturer warranty on top. Doesn’t cover unrelated faults that develop afterwards or further damage from your own modifications.
We don’t just repair K2s — we contribute to the K2 ecosystem. These ship publicly:
Free initial assessment, written diagnosis £60 (waived if you proceed), 30-day cover on every repair. UK-wide mail-in or remote from Basingstoke.
